A little about the company

Honor positions itself as a company for modern and energetic people, developing quite successful and technologically advanced gadgets. It is the daughter of the Chinese giant Huawei.

The name of the company is translated as "honor". The main ideas of Honor are based on high technology, optimism and relevance for the new generation. You can also note the excellent value for money.

Even the son of David Beckham, Brooklyn, was involved in promoting the brand.

Analysts are predicting Honor's ascension into the top five global brands in the production of modern technology, thanks to high sales of products.

Design

As noted above, Honor is a subsidiary of Chinese mobile technology giant Huawei.And this is reflected in the manufactured products. Some products differ only at the level of small details and the logo. But that's not bad either. Take ready-made developments of the “big brother”, while excluding some design stages, which will ultimately lead to a decrease in the cost of the final product. And this is in the hands of us, the buyers.

This watch is very similar to Huawei Watch GT 2 except for some details. Also, like the older model, it means, released a little earlier than Watch GT 2, two sizes are available:

  • diameter 46 mm, weight 41 grams;
  • diameter 42 mm, weight 29 grams.

The difference in size also leads to some reduction in the functionality of 42 mm watches.

Case finish: All models have 361L stainless steel outer frame. There are only four color solutions, two for each model.

46 mm version:

  • "Black coal";
  • "Brown linen".

42 mm version:

  • "Golden Sakura";
  • "Black agate".

By choosing the color of the case, it is easy to conclude that the watch models are intended for different audiences. But the relatively small size of the 42 mm version is designed, rather, for a woman's hand. This is also evidenced by the lower weight, the absence of a bezel and the elegant execution in black or gold.

But nothing prevents the fair half from wearing a large model, especially since the oversized direction is now fashionable.

The 46 mm version is more suitable for the male part of the audience - an increased case and weight, a more brutal look due to the bezel and a black or brown version.

Both models have a wide choice of straps, for 46 mm leather and silicone are offered, and for 42 mm there is a metal and also silicone option.

Advantages:
  • style;
  • steel case;
Flaws:
  • limited number of colors.

Filling

Like the Watch GT 2, this watch is based on Huawei's Kirin A1 processor. This stone was developed specifically for smart watches, so it was initially "charged" for various types of monitoring of human activity and health. And given its excellent energy efficiency, we can expect two weeks of battery life on the 46mm model and a week on the 42mm including:

  • sleep monitoring;
  • counting the heart rate;
  • monitoring 13 types of physical activity while running;
  • 15 types of fitness (8 types of outdoor activities and 7 types of exercises in the gym);
  • display notifications about messages, weather;
  • timer and alarm;
  • 30 minutes per week music playback;
  • 30 minutes per week of Bluetoots calls for 46mm model;
  • 90 minutes per week of training with GPS enabled for track recording.

For lovers of water procedures, a pleasant message: the watch is marked with a rating of 5 ATM, which allows you to dive under water to a depth of 50 meters.

Agree, an impressive list, but that's not all. This watch is so smart that it can even track your stress levels. It's all about the use of proprietary technologies. HUAWEI TruSeen, for example, alerts you when your heart rate goes beyond set levels 24/7.

Huawei TrueRelax offers breathing exercises when stress levels rise.

And the HUAWEI TruSleep 2.0 system analyzes the owner's sleep and can identify several common types of sleep disorders, suggesting how to overcome them.

To display information, the watch is equipped with displays with a capacitive touchscreen.OLED technology provides excellent readability even in bright sunlight and lower power consumption, which is very important for longer battery life.

The screen resolution of the larger model is 454 x 454 pixels with a diagonal of 1.39 inches and, respectively, 390 x 390 pixels with a diagonal of 1.2 inches for the smaller one. The pixel density per inch for both models is the same and is 326 ppi, which is quite good - the graininess of the image will definitely not be noticeable.

The clock has on board the always on function, which allows you to use only a part of the pixels to display the necessary information. And also there is a function to turn on the display while raising your hand to chest level, and quite sensitive. So you don't have to twitch your hand like a drill soldier to see the time.

The amount of built-in memory is the same and is 4 GB, however, only half is available for free use as music storage - 2 GB.

Advantages:
  • long battery life;
  • thoughtful processor architecture;
  • bright display;
  • rich functionality.
Flaws:
  • lack of a memory expansion slot;
  • the inability to install third-party applications.

Connections

Let's make a reservation right away, there is no slot for a SIM card in these devices, after all, this is a watch, not a phone. For similar reasons, there is no installed Wi-Fi module. Firstly, for surfing Internet resources, the watch screen, to put it mildly, is too small. And secondly, this type of connection is too gluttonous for the built-in battery. It is unlikely that the clock will live all day with the included module.

Now for what we have:

  • Bluetooth module of the latest revision 5.1;
  • GPS module with support for GLONASS, GALILEO navigation systems.

A little clarification: the Bluetooth module can only be used to make calls in the 46 mm model, in the younger version it is intended exclusively for playing music.

Price

According to insider sources, the pricing policy for these devices will be quite democratic. The main points from which pricing will be based are the type of model, color and material of the strap.

Below is an example of a price list for some models:

  • 46 mm Black Coal ~$170;
  • 46mm "Brown Linen" ~$200;
  • 42mm Black Agate ~$155;
  • 42mm Golden Sakura ~$200.

As you can see, the black version was the cheapest, while brown and gold shades cost the same - about $ 200. Although the "sakura" is weaker in technical terms.

In fact, the price, most likely, at the time of sale will be slightly higher than the declared one. And it will be close to the cost of Watch GT 2 so as not to provoke market dumping within two almost identical models from "related" manufacturers.

Conclusion

A very interesting transitional model from fitness bracelets to full-fledged smart watches. If you have never had such a device and have firmly decided to control your physical form, this product will come in handy.

Smart watch Honor MagicWatch 2 will be a great assistant for you during sports, walking, jogging and meeting with friends.

If this model attracts you, first of all, as a stylish accessory, then this device will undoubtedly meet all expectations. Such watches will look great both in the halls of fitness centers and on walks.

Beautiful, trendy, modern. Need to take.
