However, recently the manufacturer has also begun to produce smartphones, which, due to the lack of their own production and suitable capacities, are assembled in China. In this article, we will review the Energizer Ultimate U620S and U630S Pop smartphones, find out their technical characteristics, advantages and disadvantages, and also find out which model is better to buy for your needs.

Note that Energizer smartphones - the heroes of our review are still new, exist only in prototype format and will not appear on the market for another six months. In this regard, there are practically no photos, reviews of bloggers and reviews on the Web.Significantly more information will come when Energizer makes its debut at the mobile industry's largest trade show, Mobile World Congress, starting February 25th.

In addition to the U620S and U630S Pop, the manufacturer is introducing 26 new models, with flagship features such as pop-up cameras, a massive 18,000 mAh battery and a foldable display. Models will belong to one of four lines - Power Max and Energy - with high-capacity batteries, top-end Ultimate with a pop-up camera, and with increased protection - Hardcase.

Currently, we only have images of future devices, unfortunately, very similar, with a front view, not of the best quality, as well as rather detailed technical specifications.

Although there is not much information about the specifications of the phones yet, many features of this “premium” line have already been announced by the manufacturer.

So, it is reliably known that both smartphones will work on Mediatek Helio P70 and P22 processors, respectively. Both have dual cameras that automatically pop out of the body: a 16MP main camera with a 2MP depth sensor.The U620S Pop has a triple rear camera setup (16MP, 5MP and 2MP) with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. It will be released in July, while the second model will have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage and will be available in June.

The U620S will have a large 6.2-inch screen, while the second device, the 630, will have a slightly larger 6.3-inch screen. It is still difficult to say how the screen will show itself, for example, in the sun, what will be the viewing angles, how autofocus will work, and how sharp the photo will turn out to be.

The battery capacity is approximately the same - 3200 mAh for the U620S versus 3500 mAh for the U630S.

In the Energizer Ultimate U620S, the fingerprint sensor is located on the side of the smartphone, in the Energizer Ultimate U630S, the fingerprint scanner is on the back cover.

Unlocking via Face-Unlock is not announced, but it may appear in other models.

Quite good characteristics of the cameras are declared, but it is not yet clear how the devices will behave in practice. Accordingly, it is not yet possible to see an example of a photo taken during the day, or, even more so, to find out how each of the devices takes pictures at night.

In general, we can say that in technical terms, we did not find any special, significant differences.

Where is it profitable to buy smartphones

Currently, new items are not yet sold either in Russia or in the world. The expected release date is set for summer 2019.

However, when smartphones go on sale, all current offers and prices will be available on the Yandex.Market service.

What will be the average price is not yet known. Previously, the company produced fairly budget models. So, Energizer ENERGY S500E smartphone can be purchased for 10 thousand rubles.

The new models will certainly have another level of performance, judging by the information we have, and are announced as flagship and premium. But the prices, presumably, will still remain affordable.

Appearance of devices

All we can say for now is that smartphones will be quite imposing and can hardly be called elegant. So, the thickness of the device U630S Pop is 9.6 mm, and its colleague is as much as 10.3 mm.

For comparison, let's take the popular models of the past year from the best manufacturers, such as Apple iPhone XS - its thickness was 7.7 mm, and Samsung Galaxy S9 - it is 8.5 mm thick.

But we can definitely specify the color scheme. So, U620S will be available in black, red and green glossy colors. Unfortunately, the manufacturer decided to sell the U630S Pop phone only in black color.

So, despite the lack of feedback and reviews from both bloggers and ordinary users, we will try to highlight the supposedly strong and weak aspects of the two devices from the Energizer Ultimate series.

• Thanks to a powerful modern eight-core processor, smartphones are perfect for active games;
• Judging by the characteristics, the smartphone will be productive and nimble;
• Convenient screens with diagonals over 6 inches make the devices suitable for watching movies and YouTube videos, for example;
• Most likely, the devices will be inexpensive, but, as they say, this is not accurate;
• High autonomy is expected due to powerful batteries of more than 3000 mAh;
• If the camera parameters correspond to the declared ones, fans of taking pictures on a smartphone will be really satisfied - the images should be sharper and clearer, even when shooting objects in motion, there should also be a bokeh effect;
• Good design - phones are frameless, which means they will keep up with the times;
• Thanks to the Android 9.0 operating system out of the box, the device interface promises to be quite pleasant;
• Charging should be fast enough, as there is wireless charging technology;
• A reliable manufacturer, not just another “Chinese miracle”.

• Having to wait until summer to buy a device;
• Insufficient amount of information about smartphones on the Internet;
• The price category of devices is unknown;
• There is no built-in filter system on the cameras;
• Slightly clumsy appearance (taking into account thickness data).

Let's summarize. As for the brand itself, I would like to believe that Energizer smartphones will not be inferior in popularity to the batteries they produce, which have been used by people around the world for decades.

I would like to note that these are not just Chinese smartphones, despite the fact that the assembly is carried out in China. Behind them is an American brand with a huge history, which, for sure, will delight users with high-quality and affordable devices. But so far, the popularity of Energizer models is low, so it will be possible to draw full conclusions about the new line of smartphones only based on the results of the Mobile World Congress.
