The popularity of mobile device models from one of the best manufacturers from China, Oppo, is growing every day all over the planet. Excellent assembly, excellent technical features and modern appearance increase the popularity of the brand, bringing it to the top of high-quality mobile gadgets.
Only one minus in establishing a high cost does not allow the creators to take the first positions in the mobile device market. Alas, the new Oppo F9 (F9 Pro) also has a similar factor, the advantages and disadvantages of which are discussed in this article.

Today, the company has secured the fifth position among the largest Chinese manufacturers of mobile devices, and is also ranked eighth in terms of sales in many countries, including the United States of America, Egypt, Russia, England and many others.Overall, the brand from China captures 3.8 percent of the total market, and the company's opportunities are growing every year.
The Oppo F9 (F9 Pro) is a routine development of a line aimed at the middle price category and made for fans of selfie shots. The predecessor of Oppo F7 was demonstrated in March of this year, and the novelty went on sale from August 24th. In simple terms, only 4 months have passed between releases.
Taking into account such a short update period, it makes no sense to expect significant changes. But despite this, the creators have done a colossal job. They left the powerful sides and eliminated some of the minuses, but not all, so that there was room for improvement in the next smartphones. In addition, many regard this move as a fact that the novelty does not become a rival to the trendy popular models from the R line.
The package includes: actually, a smartphone, a memory adapter, a microUSB cable, a headset, an instruction manual, a warranty card, and a special clip to remove the SIM card.
The review starts with design. Instead of a bored protrusion of various sizes, the company decided to use a fascinating teardrop-shaped notch for the front camera. At first glance, it resembles the "Essential Phone", but due to the gradual transition to the upper ledge, the appearance has become more unusual.
The edges, by the way, are small: on the sides and top are almost invisible. The lower "chin" is wider and completely empty, but does not seem massive. The display itself has a diagonal of 6.3 inches, FHD + resolution, as well as an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9. The exact dimensions of the device:
On the back side, a typical picture: a two-module horizontal type camera with a flash, a fingerprint scanner, as well as a corporate logo. It is worth noting that the developers reacted creatively to the color palette. Available in a pinkish and bluish hue with a diamond-shaped pattern, as well as a glossy purple body, reminiscent of Huawei P20.
It is necessary to speak in connection with the differences between the novelty and its predecessor, because it is in this section that updates, modifications, pluses and minuses of the phone are much more noticeable. Oppo F7 retains the title of a great device. It has a stunning display with a very solid black depth for an IPS-type matrix, the highest contrast to the greatest extent, and excellent visibility in the sun. Color reproduction is slightly weak, but only a little, which in principle is comparable to many rivals.
The display size of the Oppo F7 is 6.23 inches and the resolution is 1080x2280 px. The aspect ratio is 19:9, a relatively wide protrusion can be seen at the top of the screen.
The F9 device, in fact, was equipped with the same screen, only slightly increasing the size - up to 6.3 inches. The aspect ratio has also changed a little - 19.5: 9 with a resolution of 2340x1080 px. There was no point in waiting for a replacement with Super Amoled, because only smartphones of the “R” line are equipped with such a matrix. It is worth noting that the protrusion under the front camera has become much smaller, now it can hardly be called a “bangs”.
The fact that the display of the novelty is covered with Gorilla Glass 6 needs special attention. For reference, marketing specialists gave the display an attractive name - "Water Drop Screen".It is clear what exactly they wanted to say, since the protrusion under the front camera is made in the form of a drop of water.
The hardware of the predecessor is so successful that it would be unwise to change anything here. Probably, in 2019, smartphones of the “F” line will switch to Snapdragon 670 or 710 chips, but in 2018, the Helio P60 from Media Tek remains the heart of the phone.
The processor shows excellent performance. It is practically not inferior to the Snapdragon 660 in the process of testing the functionality of the CPU. In terms of overall performance, the S660 is faster, but the difference is no more than 10%. Direct comparison of tests is allowed in AnTuTu.
The first results of the novelty in GeekBench are already available. For unknown reasons, the smartphone is slightly inferior to its predecessor. Most likely, the point is to fit the software, and the developers will solve this problem very soon. But even if they do not decide, it is not critical.
Now about memory. The F9 smartphone went on sale in two modifications:
But if this volume is not enough for the user, then the phone has a slot for a flash drive, and by the way, it is separate.
In the previous model, a 3400 mAh battery was installed, which guarantees an excellent operating time for the phone: with active surfing the net and watching videos, the battery lasts from 10 to 13 hours, it all depends on the mode used. What it didn't have was fast charging. This minus was eliminated in F9.
The F9 phone supports the "VOOC Flash Charge" fast charging option, which was previously only found in the "R" line.In the package there is an adapter, the power of which is 20 watts. The actual capabilities of the charger are well known: a battery with a capacity of 3400 mAh in 30 minutes it charges from absolute zero to 58 percent. The smartphone has a 3500 mAh battery, the effect is comparative. In addition, manufacturers said that just 5 minutes of recharging will give the device 2 hours of communication.
As mentioned above, the phones in the F series are mostly aimed at fans of selfie shots. Their front cameras, as practice shows, are excellent, at least with excellent resolution. The F7 front camera is made on a sensor, the resolution of which is 25 MP, the light intensity is 2.0. Slightly surprising is the fact that the focus is fixed.
The novelty was equipped with an identical front camera, but the main unit was changed. The key sensor also has a resolution of 16 MP, but now there is only one on the back side. In addition, a second block is connected to it, the resolution of which is 2 MP. Of course, the depth sensor is needed only for the "Portrait" mode, but it is present, so the new camera is officially considered a dual-module.
The F9 phone is released under the control of the Android operating system version 8.1 and the personal interface Color OS version 5.2, which for many reasons is similar to the "apple" device. Fingerprint identification is present and is located on the back. It is worth noting that in the part of the "brothers", for example, in A5 and A3, there is no fingerprint scanner. Oppo F9 supports face recognition, but in the reviews, users note that it does not guarantee an excellent degree of protection.
Wired communication is performed, as before, by microUSB type C, since this approach can be safely considered the "highlight" of advanced devices.Wireless communication is not fully implemented: there is no NFC block, and there is no support for the fifth version of Bluetooth.

Of course, some fans of mobile technologies will speak unfavorably about the fact that there is enough space under the screen for the camera. On the reverse side, and so there are a lot of phones in which this is done not as a plus for comfort, but as a stylish parody of the leaders. Oppo F9 is a great solution for this trend, which is suitable for active games, watching videos, surfing the net, as well as great selfies.
