At the beginning of autumn 2019, the world's leading manufacturers presented many new smartphone models. One of these was Nokia 7.2, which became possible to get acquainted with thanks to the exhibition in Berlin, which took place on September 5 this year. On it, Nokia presented its new products, including the older model of the series, which will be discussed in this article.

Features of the external design

The device has an original and modern appearance. The front panel is almost a frameless option: its main area is occupied by the screen, a little space is left in the lower part for a beard with a company logo, in the upper part - for a teardrop-shaped cutout with a front camera.

The rear iridescent panel attracts attention with a round block (the location of the triple rear camera) and the Zeiss inscription.A fingerprint sensor is located under the camera block.
The bottom end surface of the device is equipped with a Type-C connector, a microphone and a speaker. At the top end there is a 3.5 audio output for headphones. On the left are two SIM slots, as well as a Google Assistant launch key. On the right is the volume rocker and the lock key.
Both the front and back surfaces are protected by tempered glass Gorilla Glass 3. They are connected by a composite frame, which, according to the manufacturer, is twice as light as aluminum and twice as strong as polycarbonate.
Given their own taste preferences, the user will be able to choose one of the color options from the available offers:

• black (coal - charcoal);
• silver (ice - ice);
• turquoise (cyan green).

An electronic device having a mass of 180 g has the following dimensions:

The device is equipped with a touch screen with a diagonal of 6.3 inches, which is characterized by a resolution of 2280×1080 pixels. Such a resolution (Full HD +), taking into account the display density of 400 ppi, creates an excellent level of color reproduction and detail: the picture is juicy, does not go into a red or green tint. IPS technology, in addition to a good level of color reproduction, has comfortable viewing angles for perception (the picture begins to fade only at the sharpest angles).

It should be noted that the Pure Display technology has been used in the model, designed to adapt the display to the distribution of shades, improve contrast and pull standard video in SDR to HDR quality.
As a percentage of the total surface area, the display owns 82.4%. The aspect ratio of 19 to 9 corresponds to the proportions that are inherent in the vast majority of models of modern smartphones. Such an indicator will allow the owner to organize comfortable viewing of video materials, text files, graphic documents, and fulfill the needs of mobile gamers.

Platform

Management is entrusted to the current Android 9 (pie) this year. Instead of a shell, the model has pure Android. The brand is actively promoting Google Assistant, which has also been used in the Nokia 7.2 under review.
The life of the smartphone is regulated by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, which is manufactured using a 14-nanometer process technology. The same processor was used in Redmi Note 7, which became a bestseller in 2019. On this fact, many users make claims: the novelty uses a processor of not the newest modification, despite the fact that the cost of the device exceeds the average budget indicator (while the same Redmi Note 7 has a price one and a half to two times lower than a newcomer from Nokia) .

Memory

The volumes of operational and built-in data storage are represented by two variations:
RAM - 4 / 6 GB;
ROM - 64 / 128 GB.

It is possible to increase internal memory resources via microSD: the device has a tray for a memory card. In this case, however, you will have to give up the second SIM card.The maximum possible amount of information that can be placed on an external source is 512 GB.

Battery

The characteristic of the power system does not impress. The lithium-polymer non-removable battery has a capacity of only 3500 mAh. According to the manufacturer, an energy-efficient processor will allow the smartphone to work up to two days without recharging. In any case, such an indicator of autonomy is able to ensure the operation of the phone from one charge from morning to evening with its active use: in the case of making phone calls, communicating via Skype, e-mail correspondence, communicating in social networks, creating amateur pictures and videos. And for avid cinephiles who prefer to spend their free time watching a long movie, or mobile gamers who are not averse to getting involved in active games at their leisure, additional charge recovery may be necessary. Unfortunately, this will not work very quickly, since the fast charging function is not provided.

The rear camera, equipped with LED flash, has three modules:

• basic;
• wide-angle;
• auxiliary.

The main sensor is equipped with a sensor whose resolution is 48 megapixels with an aperture of f / 1.8. The 8-megapixel wide-angle sensor received optics with f / 2.2 and viewing angles up to 118 °. The auxiliary camera that implements the portrait mode is represented by a sensor with a resolution of 5 megapixels. Algorithms are provided that improve the quality of shooting under adverse conditions. In the presence of poor lighting, the user of the device can use the night mode.Portrait mode shots are created using one of the bokeh effect styles (smooth, swirl, modern). The device implements panoramic shooting, ensures operation in HDR mode. The gadget records video in 2160p@30fps, 1080p@30fps formats.

The feature of the front camera is to support quad bayer technology, which is designed to improve the quality of selfies in low light.

The device received a single sensor with a resolution of 20 megapixels with an f / 2.2 aperture, equipped with LED flash and zeiss optics, implements panorama shooting, supports high dynamic range technology, and records video in 1080p@30fps format.

Network and interfaces

The phone device is equipped with a double stand, which can be used for two nano-SIM cards, or a single SIM card and a memory card.

The device implements a connection to dual-band Wi-Fi (standard 802.11 b / g / n / ac). The transfer of information over short distances will help to implement bluetooth version 5. The security of the information placed in the phone can be realized thanks to the fingerprint sensor.The fingerprint sensor located on the rear panel, upon contact with the surface of the skin, will instantly respond by unlocking the display or not allowing you to use the device.

The arsenal of surveillance equipment includes a gyroscope and an accelerometer that are standard for modern electronic devices: the first sensor determines the position of the smartphone in space from three-dimensional positions, and the second one allows you to change the direction of acceleration, monitors turns, which is of particular importance for fans of active gaming processes.

The presence of a proximity sensor is also characteristic, which automatically locks the display when the phone approaches the user's auricle: when an object is fixed, the sensor prevents accidental pressing with the ear or cheek.

Price

The model is expected to go on sale at the end of September this year. According to reports, the product in the configuration RAM 4 GB / ROM 64 GB will cost 300 euros.

Advantages and disadvantages

Considering the opinions of potential users and the characteristics presented, the following pros and cons of the model can be noted.

• enough internal memory to meet the urgent needs of the user, the possibility of expanding available resources through a memory card;
