Although Meizu lags behind its closest competitors in sales, it is still worth considering the eminent Chinese company. And since the company's engineers do not waste time and strive to create something interesting and unique that can cause a new wave of popularity in the CIS countries, it is all the more worth being on the alert. Especially in the light of recent events and already available information about the new product - model number M923Q (Meizu M9 Note smartphone, the advantages and disadvantages of which will be described below).
In addition to modern design, and some extremely interesting characteristics, it is also distinguished by the fact that it is positioned by the company as a direct competitor. Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro. And since the popularity of Redmi models today is simply overwhelming, it becomes really curious what Meiza can oppose to them.

There will be no sales without a beautiful wrapper. The best manufacturers have long discovered this truth, and, fortunately, Meizu is one of them, thanks to which it keeps up with the times. And although there is no one hundred percent data about the case design yet, something is already known.
For example, the M9 Note will receive such a popular chip now as a teardrop-shaped cutout for the front camera (it will be located, like in other models, in the middle). It also became known that the power and sound buttons will be located on the board on the right, but really, what will definitely please the fans of the company is the large usable screen area, thin edges and a significant reduction in the “chin”. True, it is worth noting that most users were surprised by such thin frames in a budget smartphone, and therefore expect that in reality they will be a little wider.
But with the rest of the design details it is more difficult: only a few (and possibly not genuine) photos of the novelty can tell about them. So, the fingerprint scanner is likely to be located on one of the sides. On the back cover, it is supposed to place the camera (in the center) under it, a flash and an inscription-brand name. On the bottom side of the smartphone there are USB and paired holes for speakers, and a microphone on the sides. On top there will be only one, old, but beloved by many 3.5 mm mini jack slot.
There are more specifics with the colors, while the devices are planned to be released in three color variations: Dark Ocher, Silver Ocher and Starry Blue. The colors look very good and do not spoil the gadget, but they definitely lose in saturation and catchiness to the latest Xiaomi and Huawei models.
True, it is not yet known what will surprise more - dry numbers or the real quality of shooting, because how the device photographs is not known for certain (several pictures walking around the network should not be considered as an example). But getting acquainted with the technical capabilities will not hurt everyone who is interested in buying the M9 Note. So, the main sensor of the smartphone is equipped with a 48-megapixel matrix, and a simpler additional 5-megapixel camera will work in tandem with it. But selfie lovers are waiting for a 20-megapixel front camera, designed in a teardrop-shaped cutout.
Well, if Meise manages to technically realize such impressive characteristics and take care of high-quality software for working with photos and videos, the model can expect success with fans of shooting on mobile devices.
In the 21st century, it is almost impossible to hide anything for a long time, and especially the design and characteristics of a model that made a lot of noise even before the release. And, despite this, Meizu did an excellent job with the task and the lonely “leaked” pictures walking on the Internet gave more questions than answers. No one could vouch for their originality, and the company was able to calmly prepare for the official release. Below we will break down all the known information about such a carefully hidden device.
The reality is that most people who follow and buy new products are primarily focused on two indicators: the camera and performance. That is why now almost all manufacturers have rushed into the power race, sometimes putting forward devices with simply incredible (but often unnecessary characteristics).
If we take the Meizu M9 Note against this global background, then there is simply nothing to say about it. There are no fabulous gigabytes of RAM, no outdated processors, everything here is chosen exactly as it should be in 2019. An excellent, proven Snapdragon 675 octa-core (2 × 2.0 GHz Kryo 460 Gold & 6 × 1.7 GHz Kryo 460 Silver) coupled with an Adreno 612 GPU (quite power efficient compared to previous models) and 4 GB of RAM (which are on at the moment, it’s enough with the head and there will even be a small margin of safety for games at medium graphics settings) plus 64 GB of internal memory for storing files. This bundle is one of the best for those who are looking for a budget smartphone with high-quality hardware - nothing more with a full set of all the necessary characteristics.
Creating models with different amounts of internal memory is perhaps one of the best decisions made by smartphone manufacturers, because the standard 64 GB is far from suitable for everyone. However, it looks like Meizu M9 Note will not be able to provide its future buyers with such a choice, settling on a single configuration with 64 GB of ROM.
However, I am glad that the engineers of the Middle Kingdom still thought about their customers and left a slot for expansion using microSD cards.
Recently, software updates have been released with enviable constancy, and it is quite logical that before buying, each person tries to find a device with the “freshest” OS. Here, the Meizu M9 Note is doing great, the owners are waiting for stock Android 9.0 Pie and subsequent updates (it should be borne in mind that updates for Meizu are released quite rarely or late). On top of the operating system is the latest version of the Flyme shell, which boasts quite useful functionality.
If earlier there were many questions about the quality of displays, today there is a more positive trend, when almost all new smartphones receive a good matrix. The M9 Note is no exception, featuring a 6.2-inch Full-HD+ IPS display with a resolution of 1080 x 2244 pixels. In general, the device is quite comfortable and is great for watching movies due to the large usable area and thin bezels.
One of the main problems of budget phones is, of course, the battery life. And since the new Meizu has a filling that is quite suitable for games, the issue of autonomy is a separate item. And in general, the device has a good 3900 mAh battery, which is much more than most competitors. True, it’s not worth judging how long one battery charge lasts only by dry numbers, it would be wiser to wait for the first tests from gamers and even then decide which company is better to purchase a smartphone according to your own selection criteria.
Everything that makes an ordinary smartphone is irreplaceable and a modern gadget:
Calling the new product from Meizu a threat or even a “killer” of Redmi Note 7 / Note 7 Pro is still premature. However, certain qualities and characteristics allow us to say that the company decided to seriously rethink its position and made some conclusions.
And although it’s not possible to immediately call the M9 Note an ideal smartphone, certain points deserve attention. For example, an innovative 48 megapixel camera (maybe this is a publicity stunt, but a really worthwhile attempt) or an attractive modern design, combined with harmoniously matched hardware, can really give the new product a chance for commercial success and getting into the rating of quality goods in 2019. The estimated price of the device is from 150 euros.

Summing up, I would like to say that Meizu managed to create an interesting gadget - not a masterpiece, but a model that has good functionality and its own strengths.Of the minuses, it is worth highlighting a slightly overpriced price, however, the device, contrary to its status, is great for both everyday use for its intended purpose (calls) and for entertainment (movies, games, music and photography), so brand fans can already look for where it is profitable buy new.
