The competitive struggle of two Korean giants: LG and Samsung in the market of devices for cellular communication is not yet in favor of LG. But the employees of this company do not give up and strive to win a leading position in the market. When developing smartphones, the main emphasis is on the use of innovative technical solutions that simplify the life of gadget users. Many of LG's cellular devices are, without a doubt, worthy of the highest praise and deserve universal recognition.
Unfortunately, not all ideas turn out to be successful and supported by phone consumers. For example, an additional, second monitor had to be abandoned in the designs of smartphones created in 2017.
A distinctive feature of LG is the release of a wide range of phones that can satisfy the most demanding customer in a large price range. Features of the LG lineup - below in the text.
The sheer number of phones on the market will leave most people confused. The consumer wants to purchase a model with excellent characteristics and the necessary functions. LG is a recognized leader in creating a wide range of excellent home appliances. Phones from this company are deservedly considered very reliable and high quality. Smartphones have great looks and are all set with high performance features.
In 2018, LG engineers developed 4 product groups of phones:
In the summer of 2018, LG employees launched their new Q-series smartphone model, the LG Q8, on the market. The appearance of the phone is more similar to that of the 2017 LG V20, rather than the previous model of the LG Q6 series. Visually, the LG Q8 is a smaller copy of the LG V20 smartphone.
The functionality of the phone is also close to the LG V20 model, but still a little lower compared to the company's flagship model, due to the developers' desire to reduce the cost of this device. A distinctive feature of the LG Q8 device is a high degree of protection against dust and moisture, which the company's marketers immediately took advantage of and focused on this characteristic in an advertising company. This cellular communication device should fully function underwater at a depth of less than 1 m. Until now, many Chinese competitors of LG produce phones without decent protection, not only in the middle price range, but also advanced models with expensive and high-performance electronics.

The developers of this wonderful device ensured its protection according to the IP67 class. This means that the degree of penetration of foreign substances into the apparatus corresponds to the previous and above classes:
There are practically no devices with such a degree of protection in the middle price segment on the market.
Falling from your knees to this phone is also not terrible. The device has been successfully certified to meet all MIL-STD-810G specifications. This is an American military standard, meeting its requirements ensures the operation of equipment in extreme conditions.
A modern high-performance processor from Qualcomm, 4 GB RAM, Android 7.0 Nougat control system ensure reliable, efficient operation of the smartphone. The rating of the phone according to the antutu expert program is 136300 units.
The highlight of this device can be called an additional display, which is located above the main monitor, its resolution is 1040x160 pixels, and it is always active. Even in standby mode, the user can use the functions of quick access to the necessary programs or other features of the phone.
The exquisitely designed back panel houses a dual main camera and a bright flash, they are located at the top of the panel in one window. Also on the back are a fingerprint reader and the company logo.

LG's pricing policy for cellular devices doesn't seem entirely logical.Sales of the company's phones are falling heavily, and the prices of smartphones are not declining.
Phone sales in the 2nd quarter of 2018, compared to the same period in 2017, fell by 23%. Although the entire segment of cellular devices is sagging this year, this does not explain such a strong drop in demand for LG products, because the market sank by only 2% over the year. This information shows that the company is outperforming a key market player.
The production and sale of the LG Q8 smartphone will most likely not change the negative trends in the market. The IP67 rating of the device, stylus, D/A converter, and MIL-STD-810G certification could increase the demand for this smartphone, but unfortunately the phone is priced at 540,000 won at launch. Translation from Korean currency gives a cost of 470 dollars. Even for such a great phone, the price is far from low.
