In terms of specifications, Alcatel 3X supports quad-core 1.28GHz processor in the form of MediaTek MT6739 chip. For a more spoiled audience, such a set is rather modest for a mid-range smartphone. Moreover, the smartphone was released in 2018, when eight-core smartphones are not so rare in this price segment.
The first thing to know about the Alcatel 3X 5058l camera is that the top quality setting uses a little software trick that is best avoided.
The smartphone is equipped with a main camera of 13 megapixels and for better quality images the camera is interpolated up to 16 megapixels. The front camera is 5 megapixels and also interpolated up to 8 megapixels.
Interpolation is the use of software enhancements so these cameras can simulate higher resolution footage.
Like some of the best imaging phones, the dual-lens camera lets you adjust background blur or bokeh effects, as well as take wide-angle shots up to 120 degrees. The smartphone is also equipped with electronic image stabilization (EIS) and dual-tone LED flash.
Directly above the screen of the phone is a 5-megapixel front camera with a fixed focus. This camera is also interpolated up to 8 MP, which, again, is not impressive, although it does have a Face Key facial recognition system. The program is included in the security package of the phone along with a circular fingerprint scanner located under the rear camera.
Interpolation often results in 'fluffy' photos that don't hold up well when zoomed in, so if you're using this phone make sure you switch to the second setting on both the rear and front cameras.
Switching between the wide-angle and standard lens of the main camera is done by tapping the very confusing building and tree building icons in the camera app. Apparently the extra tree means "wide angle".
This is pretty typical of Alcatel's camera app: it's not exactly well designed and takes a while to get used to and get used to.You access modes like pan and slip through a button that looks like a four-leaf clover under the viewfinder. Inside this is the familiar settings tool.
There aren't many modes, but the four-frame square inside Social mode is likely to be popular with Instagram fans.
The front camera also includes a beauty mode with two sliders. They're tagged with slightly useless graphics, one that seems to blur the face, and another that seems to make the skin more attractive.
The dual-tone flash on the main camera works well for shooting portraits that don't completely blur the subject. However, without a flash, both cameras work in lower light, as well as in good indoor lighting.
Among the shortcomings, users note poor focusing, which is often noted in other devices of a similar price category.
Overall, the front and rear cameras work great for a phone at this price point. They are no better and no worse, at the level of the same cost models.
The resulting photos are good enough for social media and the like, but you probably don't want to print them out and hang them on the wall.
Smartphone users, when choosing, are interested in how the phone takes pictures, which pictures are taken during the day and which at night, how the camera takes pictures in natural light, and how indoors.
An example of how photographing in natural light:
Even in bright sunlight, this flash came out darker than it should have been.
Photo during artificial lighting:
Black cats always turn out well.Alas, most of the fur in the picture is very fuzzy (not literally) and not as fluffy and bright as in the original.
The lighter areas are blown out a bit, but the fur and other details are well defined in the darker areas of the photo.
This is the best of the photos. Some images were out of focus and everything was darker than it should have been under bright lights.
The front camera is certainly not the highest level, but the pictures are excellent.
Despite its aforementioned rudimentary processor, the Alcatel 3X has a more respectable 3GB of RAM. The Alcatel 3X smartphone is equipped with an internal storage of 32 GB of memory. There is also a micro-Sd slot for storage expansion up to 128 GB.
Simple budget brand Alcatel has introduced a lot of new phones at the international exhibition in 2018, including Alcatel 3, Alcatel 3V and Alcatel 3X. All models have a screen with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and an affordable price. Alcatel 3X phone is the most expensive of these three models.
The smartphone has
This is a really weird phone. The back panel looks cheap and plastic. It has "radial detailing" which is similar to the grooves on a vinyl record. These grooves allow for a better grip on the phone, but they definitely make this metallic blue phone cheaper.
The front of the phone includes a 5.7-inch 18:9 IPS screen and a 78% screen-to-body ratio.
The phone doesn't feel big or heavy when lifted, despite the size of this bezel. It can be bright and offers crisp and colorful images from a wide range of viewing angles.
The resolution is 720 x 1440 pixels, which is about 282 pixels per inch. It's low but worth the price. If image quality is an issue for you, you may prefer to use the Alcatel 3V at 1080 x 2160 instead.
However, you are unlikely to notice a lower screen quality in remote use. In testing, we found that videos and games look great, if you do not put 3X next to something more expensive and quality in terms of picture on the screen.
Unfortunately, while the screen itself looks good enough, it's not particularly resistant: there's no Gorilla Glass protection, and in testing, I managed to get a pretty decent scratch on the display with less than a week of daily use. Not perfect.
Directly below the lens on the rear panel is a fingerprint scanner, which, according to some users, responds to touch a little slower than on other devices that are similar in price. Below the sensor is the familiar Alcatel logo.
On the rounded right edge is the volume rocker, and below is the textured power key. There is no particular problem in distinguishing them by the feel when using the phone.
On the left is a dual-SIM slot (although the 3X is also available in a single-SIM configuration in some markets), there's a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top right, and two speakers above an old-style micro-USB charging port on the bottom edge .
Buying a budget phone does not always mean that the purchase loses in all respects. In the case of the Alcatel 3X, you actually get significantly better battery life than you might expect from a 3,000 mAh battery – the phone will last most of the day with moderate use.
As with any phone, the longer the active display and the higher the brightness, the sooner the battery drains, but due to the lower resolution of the screen, the 3000 mAh battery can last longer than its high-end counterparts.
However, it also charges slowly. Obviously, at this price, there is no wireless or fast charging, and users are forced to use an old-fashioned micro-USB charger.
Performed a routine battery test while streaming HD video over Wi-Fi with apps and accounts syncing in the background.
With a full charge at full brightness, the Alcatel 3X only lost 15% of its original value by the end of a 90-minute video. This compares favorably with the competition, with the Moto G6 Play losing 18% in the same test, the Honor 9 Lite 24% and the Sony Xperia XA1 27%.
The Alcatel 3X 5058I smartphone is a representative of the budget segment, so it will not suit those who have high demands on the filling of the device. Externally, the device is quite attractive, it fits comfortably in the hand, and thanks to the matte finish it does not slip.
For its 8,000 rubles, the phone will properly perform all the basic functions, such as means of communication, as well as take photos, open access to the Internet world. The only one it won't suit at all is mobile gamers. The budget apparatus with its modest data is not intended for this.
