The Indian consumer electronics brand has not pleased consumers lately with the release of new models. And on the eve of 2019, two new items from the N series appear simultaneously - Infinity N11 and Infinity N12. Devices with a monobrow correspond to all modern trends and are essentially variations of one device, differing from each other in a few individual characteristics.

Appearance

Visually, devices with bangs give the impression of presentable modern devices.

Model N11 is presented in discreet black color (Black). A distinctive feature of the exterior design of the Infinity N11 is the design of the back, along the left side of which there is a rubberized strip: this design echoes the exterior design of the Honor 8X.

Its closest relative N12 has a wide variety of colors: blue lagoon (Blue Lagoon), viola (Viola), velvet red (Red Velvet). The back panel of the device is notable for its glossy surface with a reflective effect.

The dimensions of the presented smartphones are the same and are: width - 76.2 mm, height - 155 mm, thickness - 8.5 mm. The weight of each product is 164 g. The case is plastic.

In general, the front and rear views of the N11 and N12 do not have significant differences (except for the design of the rear camera). On the right side, electronic devices are equipped with conveniently located power buttons and volume keys. At the bottom, smartphones have microUSB ports and headphone jacks. The screen resolution of 720*1500 pixels makes graphic and text images slightly blurry in some cases.

The display occupies about 81.1% of the front panel of the phone, has an aspect ratio of 18.9 to 9, which ensures that more graphic and textual information is displayed on the touch screen.

Platform

Both devices run on the optimized Android 8.1 Oreo operating system. The MediaTek MT6762V Helio P22 processor is not an entry-level processor: its purpose is to serve devices belonging to the middle class with RAM no more than 6 GB and a display resolution of HD + (720 * 1600 with an aspect ratio of 20: 9). Provides support for dual cameras with a resolution of up to 13/8 MP (single-camera modules, respectively, up to 21 MP).

The rear cameras of the devices located on the rear panel do not have significant differences: this is a dual camera variant with a 13-megapixel with LED flash and a 5-megapixel module for blurring the background. The difference between them is only in the design of the back.

Depending on the environmental conditions (outdoors or indoors with artificial lighting, in the sun or in a dark place), the main cameras of AI-enhanced phones can automatically adjust the brightness, contrast, and saturation of images.

Front cameras differ more significantly. The N11 has an 8-megapixel front camera, while the N12 is more richly equipped with a 16-megapixel selfie device. Of course, the capabilities of the N11's additional camera are more modest compared to the older model, but they are enough to get detailed images. Assessing the capabilities of the front camera of the second device - N12, it should be noted that the clarity of the pictures will be an order of magnitude higher: with its help, you can create photos that will be suitable for editing at a professional level. Both in the first and in the second case, the presence of a frontal flash is characteristic.

Camera applications have specific modes: panorama, bokeh, time lapse, beauty.The highlight is a mode developed directly by Micromax, called FaceCute, which will enrich the pictures with additional effects.

There are slots for 2 nano-sim cards. They function in dual sim standby mode (alternate operation of telephone cards): if one of them is involved in the conversation process, the second one is deactivated for a while.

Announced by the manufacturer in December 2018 (sales start from December 26), the cost for the Infinity N11 was 9,000 Indian rupees, for the Infinity N12 - 10,000 INR, which is expressed in dollar terms as 130 and 140 USD, respectively. According to the current exchange rate for January 2019 in domestic currency, the estimated cost for N11 corresponds to 8650 rubles, N12 - 9300 RUB. Given the characteristics that beginners have, combined with an affordable price, it can be argued that the presented models will be able to successfully compete with devices from well-known brands.

A review of Micromax's new products, which were released at the end of last year, helped to form an initial impression of the phones: given the inexpensive prices for devices, in general, they have good functionality and performance.
