The latter are tirelessly trying to surpass the Redmi line, if not in quality, then in terms of price / quality ratio. The result of these attempts is always doubtful, with rare exceptions, such as ASUS with its ZenFone. The Taiwanese may have been inferior to the Chinese in terms of camera performance, but otherwise he was head and shoulders above him. This time Xiaomi is challenged by compatriots represented by Huawei.They presented the Enjoy 9s smartphone, which, according to the declared characteristics, is comparable to the model note 7 from competitors. The novelty has every chance to surpass the aforementioned smartphone for many reasons.

Design

The front of the 9s is completely similar to the Note 7. The wide bottom and the waterdrop notch for the front camera are identical. Notable is the smaller diagonal, which was 6.21 inches. The resolution is similar to the competitor - 1080 x 2340 Mpx. Dimensions do not go beyond decent. Weight is 160 g. This is a fairly small weight by modern standards. The IPS format matrix occupies 9/10 of the entire front panel. The space is covered by 84%. It is noteworthy that there is a standard for protecting eyesight under the name Eye Comfort Mode.

The back is completely glass, which gives the phone an expensive look, especially against the backdrop of modern plastic cases. The triple camera module is arranged in the same way as the module of the P20 pro model. Nearby is a fingerprint scanner. The 9s has a classic headphone jack, which is a plus, but it lacks the classic microUSB, which is a minus. Especially if you compare the new product with a direct competitor from Xiaomi, that is, with Note 7, which has all the traditional ports available. Another disadvantage of the smartphone from Huawei is that the engineers did not find places for the near-field module (payment of the bill using a smartphone) and an additional slot for a memory card. The user will have to face a choice: either 2 SIM cards, or 1, but with an SD card installed.

"Iron" is not original - the developer adhered to the goal of creating a quality product without reinventing the wheel. The smartphone runs on the proprietary Kirin 710 chipset at 12 nm. Cortex-A73 cores deliver 2.2 GHz peak power.The execution of simple operations is left to the auxiliary cores A53. The power of the latter reaches 1.7 GHz. Graphics processes are reserved for the Mali-G51 chipset, which has established itself as a good and durable video adapter.

The 9s model is presented in only two memory layouts: 64GB / 128GB, while the amount of RAM in both variants is the same - 4 GB. The amount of RAM in 4 GB by modern standards is more than enough for any operations performed by a smartphone, from games to work in applications, but the performance of the Note 7 competitor is higher - 6 GB. Despite the fact that the RAM numbers in the 9s model are less than in the Note 7, the novelty from Huawei still boasts excellent optimization, which makes full use of 4 GB of RAM. The ROM volumes indicated above (64/128 GB) can easily be supplemented with a memory card up to 512 GB, so that the indicators are enough for all occasions.

An impressive indicator is the ability to record video in Slow Motion at a frequency of 480 frames / second.

The parameters of the selfie camera are standard for modern times and do not differ in originality. It carries 8 megapixels and allows you to take good selfies, but no more.

The battery capacity of the new 9s is 3400 mAh - the average.A 10-watt charger is a clear advantage of a smartphone, especially against the background of average battery performance. Simultaneously with the flagship of the middle segment in the face of Enjoy 9s, Huawei announces a budget version of the same model under the name Enjoy 9e. The simplified model is not much different from the fellow in the line. The goal of the developer was to ensure that the new Enjoy received maximum distribution, so they simply reduced the price of their flagship and gave it the name 9e.

Design

The design of the e-version is completely similar to the appearance of the older brother. The same large display, which occupies 9/10 of the surface of the front of the smartphone, the same glass back, giving the phone an aristocratic look. Weight and dimensions show those figures: 160 grams and dimensions of 158.9 x 76.9 x 8.1 mm.

More about the appearance: the 6.09-inch screen occupies more than 85% of the front of the smartphone, its surface is protected by special tempered glass. The matrix resolution is slightly lower than in the s-version and is 1560 x 720 pixels, which fits into the HD + format. The aspect ratio is 19.5/9, which is slightly larger than traditional sizes. The mechanics of the apparatus deserves separate consideration. After all, the processor chip and the amount of RAM in the models differ, even in terms of aggregate work.

Interestingly, in the younger version, the engineers still found a place for the SD card so that the user does not have to refuse to use 2 SIM cards at once.

The front camera of the e-version carries 8 megapixels and is similar in all characteristics to the selfie camera of Enjoy 9s. The same branded enhancers, AI algorithms that perform exposure analysis and other parameters, technologies for working with faces. The latter work conscientiously, so the user can be confident in their selfies. The main camera has a 13 megapixel sensor, and its lens has a radius of f.1.8. It is believed that lenses with such an aperture are capable of capturing half as much light as optics with an aperture of 2.2. The battery of Enjoy 9e is somewhat inferior in terms of the older model, its capacity is 3020 mAh. There is no fast charging option. These capacities will be enough for 8-12 hours of games and active use of multimedia extensions and for 17-20 hours in measured mode.

Wireless configurations are presented in full, except for near-field technology. It is noteworthy that there is a classic microUSB connector, because the older version does not have it. Apparently, during the development, the engineers changed their minds and decided not to deprive the smartphone of a convenient and universal port. The SuperSound algorithm is exclusive to the e-version. It supports PartyMode and provides sound amplification.
