So why pay more when there are manufacturers like Oppo, Xiaomi, Honor, Huawei that will make a quality device at an affordable price?

In our review, we will talk about the Oppo A91 smartphone, where we will talk about the advantages and disadvantages, exterior and filling, features and functionality. And also consider the feasibility of acquiring this camera phone in the price-quality ratio.

The Chinese company OPPO Electronics Corporation announced itself in 2004. Smartphones from this manufacturer quickly gained buyers and fans due to their affordable price and decent quality. And not only in China.

Over the years of its existence, OPPO Electronics Corporation did not stop there, developed, created new interesting models, and also did a good job in the field of advertising, making Leo DiCaprio, one of the most popular and beloved actors in the world, the face of its brand.

OPPO first:

More precisely, a camera phone, since the main highlight of this device is a quad camera with a resolution of the main module of 48 megapixels. The fact is that all competing companies have similar models, so in order not to remain outsiders, the manufacturer has prepared several “goodies” in the A91.

Camera

As noted above, almost all manufacturers of mobile equipment have models with a quad camera and a resolution of the main matrix of 48 megapixels in their arsenal. The difference is only in the functionality of the other three cameras. Here the fantasy of manufacturers knows no bounds. Oppo decided to limit itself to the following set:

• the second camera is an ultra-wide-angle with a resolution of 8 megapixels;
• the third is a macro camera with a resolution of 2 megapixels;
• the fourth - 2 MP, depth sensor, to get the bokeh effect.

In general, a pretty good selection and quite functional. I would like to note only the “modest” resolution of the second module by modern standards and the absence of optical zoom.

Video recording is made with a resolution of 1080 pixels, and the gyro-image stabilization function will permanently eliminate image shaking.

The front camera is single, located on a miniature ledge in the center of the top of the screen. The resolution of the module is 16 megapixels, which is more than enough to take high-quality selfies.

Today you will not surprise anyone with an IPS matrix, therefore, in order to make the product competitive, Oppo installed an AMOLED display on this model. Yes, it is more expensive, but the game is worth the candle.

Saturated colors and excellent readability in bright daylight - all this is about AMOLED. The joke about the fact that the Chinese do not know how to make smartphones with a diagonal of less than 6 inches is confirmed in this case. Not every hand will feel comfortable with a device with such dimensions. Size 6.4 inches. Yes, this is a small TV, since the aspect ratio of 20:9 only reinforces this impression.

The resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels will satisfy any visual geek. Even with a pixel-per-inch density of ~408 ppi, which is not the highest today, the graininess will not be noticeable.

Another feature of the display is an optical fingerprint scanner located under it. About its performance, no data is given.But for example, residents of the northern regions, of course, it is important to know how the scanner will behave in conditions of negative temperatures.

Protecting all this splendor is a Gorilla Glass 5 coating that is resistant to abrasion and scratches, which will help extend the attractiveness of the device for a longer time.

This unit has an operating system Android 9.0 (Pie), which is not the latest in the line. Most likely, an update to the tenth version will be released in the near future.

A proprietary shell ColorOS 6.1 is installed on top of the system, which showed performance in operation.

The back side of the device shines with bright colors, of which three are offered:

Nothing superfluous, just a camera block, a flash and a chrome-plated company logo in the bottom corner of the device. The front surface is also without frills, a minimum of a frame, a maximum of a display. And given its 6.4-inch diagonal and rounded corners, it seems that the screen occupies 100% of the surface.

The only controversial point in the design is the spacing of the power button on the right side and the volume rocker on the left side of the device. It will not be very comfortable to control the device with one hand. On the bottom of the case there is a 3.5mm jack for wired headphones and a USB 2.0, Type-C 1.0 connector.

The Oppo A91 comes with a 4025mAh battery installed. Battery life is not given. But, looking back at competitive smartphone models with similar characteristics, we can say that the period of active work on a single battery charge will not exceed two days. As a bonus, the kit comes with a 30W fast charger that can fill the battery to 50% capacity in just half an hour.

Insider sources list a price of 260 euros. It turns out that this is not the cheapest camera phone. And taking into account the fact that the device has not yet been delivered to domestic retailers, the price may still grow.

A device with similar characteristics can be found cheaper, but already with competitors.

Conclusion

Quite an interesting model in technical terms for a closer look.At the moment, the device is released only for the Asian market segment. There is no mention of the A91 either in Russian or in the English-language section of the company's official website.
