The screen is protected by scratch-resistant glass. In general, Huawei Y7p looks quite decent (more expensive than it actually costs).

Display

With a diagonal of 6.39 inches - the actual area is slightly smaller, since the corners of the screen are rounded. The display really turned out to be large, the ratio to the body is 90.15%. But you should not expect special brightness and clarity from the image. All because of the low resolution of 1560 by 720 pixels with a density of about 270 pixels per inch. But, at the same time, it is worth noting a good color rendition. Sharpness is satisfactory.To view sites and videos - it is enough.
Even in bright light, the information on the display is clearly visible, but in the sun it will be problematic to see at least something on the screen.

You can solve the problem in the settings - hide it completely or only when using certain applications. But, according to users, the band interferes only when starting games.

Performance

The first thing worth noting is the amount of RAM, 4GB. And this means that you can run several applications at the same time without losing speed and “freezing”. Plus 64 GB of internal storage, expandable up to 512 GB for storing personal photos and videos.

Not bad for a budget smartphone. Hybrid slot for microSD and SIM cards. The maximum amount of memory for an external drive is 256 GB.

The battery is powerful (4000 mAh). Quietly stand without recharging 111 hours of music playback or 20 hours of web surfing. The only negative is that the device comes with a standard power adapter with a power of only 10 watts, which is connected via microUSB. So if the phone is completely discharged, it will take at least 2 hours to fully recharge.

The processor is an octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 710F coupled with Mali-G51 graphics. Not new, but it does its job. Fans of active games will appreciate the fast work. Interestingly, in the budget segment, you can find models with a more advanced Kirin 810.

Operating system

OS - Android 9.0 (Pie), EMUI 9.1 interface based on artificial intelligence. Simple and intuitive. Plus performance improvement by predicting user actions. On average, system responsiveness is improved by 25% and overall performance by 12%. Reduced time to launch applications.
Easy Navigation - The interface has been improved for easy one-handed operation (the bar is located at the bottom of the screen).

Another plus of EMUI 9.1 is the ability to store passwords from accounts on social networks in encrypted form. Access to information can only be obtained after scanning a fingerprint.

Photo and video

As indicated on the manufacturer's website, Huawei Y7p can completely replace the camera. Three cameras, of which:

• main - 48 megapixels (plus wide-angle - 8 megapixels and 2 megapixels);
• front - 8 megapixels.

Will provide display of the smallest details. Plus, the stabilization technology and exposure time of 6 seconds are beautiful and clear photos even in poor lighting conditions. Taking impressive photos at night is not a problem, without tripods and additional lighting devices.

The 8-megapixel and 2-megapixel wide-angle and portrait cameras, respectively, are great for shooting in bright light. Here, the brighter the light, the less grainy in the final image. And yes, you won’t be able to turn on the night mode on the auxiliary cameras separately from the main one.

The artist function is the automatic adjustment and optimization of the image. For novice photographers - that's it. Experienced users can take advantage of the Pro mode with manual controls (autofocus, shutter speed, etc.).

As for the video, the results can be called very average. The autofocus function, which works great with photos, is practically non-existent in the case of video, so you won’t be able to do without a tripod.

Sound

The standard headphone jack is located at the bottom of the smartphone. There is only one speaker, which explains the rather average sound quality. Bass and low notes merge, in some cases sound distortion is possible. Not suitable for true music lovers. Supported format: mp3, mp4, 3gp, ogg, amr, aac, flac, wav, midi.

Finding the right photo from Huawei Y7p takes a matter of seconds. Thanks to modern technology, it can automatically recognize more than 28,000 kinds of tags. The company has already announced its intention to stop using the services, even if sanctions are lifted. HUAWEI plans to develop its own applications. According to forecasts in Russia, gadgets will be delivered with pre-installed popular applications (the list may vary depending on the country). Whether this is actually the case is unknown.
