Design

Everything is standard here, nothing out of the ordinary. Large screen with a narrow, almost imperceptible frame with a waterdrop notch for the front camera on the front panel. The fingerprint recognition sensor button has moved from the rear panel to the side, located next to the power button. On the back cover there is a rectangular camera module with 3 sensors and a brand logo. At the bottom of the case is a headphone jack and charger.

Overall dimensions - 160x75mm, with a thickness of 8.5 mm. Weight is also not small - 192 grams. Controlling a smartphone with one hand will be problematic, especially for girls.

The gadget is presented in 3 colors: black, dark blue and silver. Regarding the material of the case - the information is contradictory.Some sources claim that the body is made of metal and Gorilla Glass, others (based on a fairly budget price and excellent technical characteristics) that it is made of plastic.

Display

The new smartphone received a 6.5-inch Full HD+ IPS display with a 90Hz refresh rate and a 180Hz sensor sampling rate. The latter indicator provides a faster response to user commands by an average of almost 50%. Yes, this is not AMOLED, but LCD, but IPS technology is considered one of the most advanced in the world. Maximum natural color reproduction, high image quality, no glare (even in bright sunlight). Also, IPS technology is considered safer for the eyes.
On the one hand, a high update rate allows you to get a smoother picture, on the other hand, it increases energy consumption. Huawei Enjoy 20 Pro uses intelligent dynamic frame rate technology (not set by the user in the settings, but adjusted automatically, depending on the application used). The result is battery savings.
Another definite plus is the large screen. Watching videos, playing games will be comfortable, the effect of complete immersion is guaranteed.

Camera

Deserves special attention. The rear camera consists of 3 modules. The main one is 48 megapixels (like in premium flagships), a wide-angle sensor of 8 megapixels and a 2 megapixel macro sensor with the ability to focus on an object from a minimum distance of 40 mm. Front - 16 pixels, with an aperture of f / 2.0.

The characteristics are good. Professional image quality is unlikely to be achieved, but it’s quite possible to get beautiful photos, even in poor lighting conditions.The night view function will allow you to take bright and clear photos even in total darkness. By the way, it is the advantages of night shooting that are shown in the official promotional video.

Video shooting features - 4K panorama (at 30 frames per second), with support for HDR technology, which provides excellent image brightness and contrast, combined with the most realistic color reproduction.

Performance

The gadget received the Dimensity 800 chipset from MediaTek (according to the test results, it confidently outperformed the Snapdragon 765G, but fell short of the Kirin 820), so the performance is on top.

The novelty is a great solution for gamers. Built-in 5G SoC chip combined with high performance GPU, compatible with most games. Testing showed that with the maximum frame rate turned on, the average frame rate reaches 59.7 per second (almost without sharp fluctuations). The picture is smooth, plus a high response speed (fans of active, dynamic games will like it) and clear graphics.

Battery and battery life

Battery capacity - 4000 mAh. It would seem a little, but in test mode, the smartphone showed excellent results. For example, watching an hour-long video reduced the battery by only 5%. If you use your smartphone to play the game, the power consumption will increase by up to 10% (in half an hour). On average, a full battery charge should last for 10-12 hours of active use.

There is a fast charging function (a 22.5 W device is included). You can recharge the battery in just half an hour.

Tip: Battery life is affected not only by battery capacity, but also by hardware, display type and size, built-in apps and features.To prolong battery life, you can reduce the brightness of the display, turn off background software updates. But closing unused applications will not give much effect.

Security and additional sensors

The only thing that is known for sure is that the novelty is equipped with a fingerprint sensor built into the side part. As for face recognition technology (this was mentioned earlier), such information is indeed indicated on foreign sites. Whether this is true or not is unknown.

The built-in PrivateSpace service is responsible for the security of user data. According to the manufacturer, all data (including those stored in cloud storage) is encrypted.

As for additional features, this is just a set of standard functions: an accelerometer (responsible for rotating the image when the smartphone's position changes), a proximity sensor (to prevent accidental pressing of buttons on the screen during a call), a compass, support for basic navigation systems (GPS).

Interface

EMUI 10.1 with a transparent effect, calm, with a predominance of pastel shades, does not distract attention or irritates. Improved animation "knows how" to respond to the movement of the user's hands and provides a smoother transition between applications. In words, everything is fine, in reality - the sensors react with a decent delay, so it's easier to use the touch screen.

Well, standard functions are available - the ability to remove icons of unused applications, adjust the linear arrangement of icons.

To protect your eyesight, you can set a special dark interface mode, the brightness and contrast of the image can also be adjusted to suit you.

Additional features:

  • fast wireless data exchange (transferring even "heavy" files will take a few seconds);
  • setting up the interaction of Huawei devices with just one touch;
  • Huawei Cast+ will provide high quality online broadcasting even when the network signal is low.

As well as the ability to open multiple windows for easy transition between tabs.

Services

The Enjoy 20 Pro will come without Google services pre-installed, but that's not a problem. You can download them without difficulty. The only difficulty is updates for Android. On the official website, the manufacturer promises to provide updates on a monthly basis, though the timing is not specified. Updates will not be released for all models, so information will have to be tracked.

Instead of popular and in-demand services, Huawei offers users the AppGallery app store, and is actively working on creating its own Harmony OS. At the same time, there are rumors about Google's requests to the US government for permission to resume cooperation with Huawei.

Advantages and disadvantages

Huawei has been pleasing users with productive smartphones at an affordable price for several years now. Enjoy 20 Pro is no exception.

Advantages:
  • performance;
  • large, almost frameless display;
  • good camera;
  • fast charging function;
  • large amount of memory with the possibility of expansion;
  • suitable for games (including demanding ones);
  • advanced fingerprint sensor;
  • powerful processor.
Flaws:
  • plastic case - it is better to immediately buy a protective case;
  • battery capacity of 4000 mAh.

What is the result

Enjoy 20 Pro is a smartphone with premium features at an affordable price of 250 euros. Powerful processor, excellent camera performance, simple and concise design.The only significant drawback that users noted is that the manufacturer imposes on potential buyers the Nano Memory format, instead of standard microSD.

The start of sales in China is already open, when the smartphone will appear in Russia is still unknown.
