Lenovo Tab P11 Pro tablet review with key features

Lenovo Tab P11 Pro tablet review with key features

Without waiting for official shipments, Lenovo's new Tab P11 Pro tablet has already taken the vacant position in place of the most anticipated new product. Models are credited with the function of a laptop and a smartphone, they promise versatility, power and mobility. The release is scheduled for November, but users have already got acquainted with the preliminary price of $700. Is Lenovo so good in 2022 or is there an advertised dummy behind the big news?

In this article:

  • Why is this tablet called a breakthrough?
  • Where to spend the extra 50 thousand?
  • How to combine a graphic tablet, a cinema, a game console and a laptop for work in one device?

Design

The very first statement of the brand - compactness - is confirmed. Compared to other devices, the Tab P11 Pro stands out for its miniature appearance. The developers place particular emphasis on subtleties - 7.7 mm, which means that the tablet will weigh little.

Tab P11 Pro has a regular rectangular shape with slightly rounded edges. The back of it is matte and covered with aluminum. Reliable material will look like new for a long time, by the way, for the same reason, the side frames are also made of aluminum. The corners will wear out longer (subject to the presence of a cover).

The first echoes of the phone are also presented here - a dual camera, framed in an oval, black block. In addition to it, there is a brand logo on the back.

Expensive, high-quality materials did not bypass the screen. It is covered with durable tempered glass, but Corning Gorilla Glass does not have additional protection (but it would be worth it). The front camera is represented by a double block in the upper right corner. It is almost imperceptibly located on thin frames. The volume swing and the unlock button are on the edges. Unlocking the tablet is now done through touching the cutout on the side, a graphic password, and even FaceID.

The Lenovo brand did not succumb to trends, leaving the familiar 3.5 mm jack for wired headphones (before the first announcement of its own wireless ones) and a standard USB input.

The novelty supports a SIM card (nano) and a stylus connection. Thus, the Tab P11 Pro tablet already at first glance makes it clear that it is not made with budget details. Comfortable shape, variety of functions and expensive coverage already cover part of the advanced price.

Complete set and colors

The tablet package is standard and includes:

  • USB cord;
  • Adapter for charging;
  • A paperclip for sim (since the cover is non-removable);
  • Certificates, guarantee.

To date, only one color of the Tab P11 Pro is known - gray, reminiscent of the iPad. But it is quite possible that standard white, black or blue colors will be added closer to the release.

Screen

A high-quality display is the guarantor of the success of any tablet. The P11 Pro models are definitely lucky with this. The matrix is represented by a saturated Oled type, which is capable of reflecting up to 16 million shades. Oled is also an improved version of the Korean Amoled, famous for rich colors, a wide range of brightness and low power consumption. The screen responds quickly to touch and has an Always on display function. Another advantage is a thin coating from oily fingerprints.The screen resolution reaches 1600 x 2560 pixels, but the ppi ratio suffers, at 263 the eyes are very strained, and small details are pixelated.

However, provided that the dimensions of the novelty - 11.5 inches - are large, the tablet is suitable for both leisure and work. Developers here include: watching movies, playing games, reading books, convenient notes and recording audio at school, drawing with a stylus and making calls / surfing over the Internet.

Additionally, the color scheme and main modes are customized through the settings, where users are provided with the warmth / coldness of the image, font size, icons, reading modes, sleep and others.

System and interface

The interface of the model will probably not differ from the Tab M10 Plus, which was released 2 months ago. It is based on the Android 10 operating system. The workspace is standard, includes: a menu with all applications, the main Google package, organizers (calendar, calculator), even a video / audio track editor.

For convenient use, the "double screen" function has been added, as well as the "activity control" function, in order to turn off the social media for the duration of the study. networks. The large screen allows you to use the entire arsenal of features, and powerful stuffing prevents automatic updating or crash of tabs with 4-5 open applications.

Communications

The package of functions in the tablet is standard, it is:

  • WiFi upgraded to 802.11 (latest);
  • Bluetooth 5.0 (connection to wireless devices without interruption);
  • GPS and radio.

In general, the tablet is perfect for everyday and light tasks. It has access to most of the functions of a smartphone and laptop.

Performance and memory

The main reason for high ratings even before the release is a fast processor.Previous versions of the M10 and P10 received weaker Mediatek or Snapdragon 410 components. Their power was frankly weak, the tablets pulled either very light games or at the minimum settings. This story is not about the P11 Pro at all, it uses an 8-nanometer Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chipset.

If in the case of the phone, users started a loud discussion and scandal, then for the Lenovo tablet, this processor is a real gift.

The clock speed of the GPU is 730 Hz, which, in tandem with the OpenGL ES function (support for high graphics), produces the highest quality gaming experience without sagging and delays. During operation, all 8 cores are involved, and the speed of moving files in the system is 1866 MHz.

Overall, the Tab P11 Pro is nimble. If this was supposed to be a gift to a child, then he will certainly be satisfied, since all available games, including WoT or Need for Speed, will easily run on medium settings (and you don’t need more).

The developers offer such options for the ratio of RAM / ROM: 6/128 and 4/128 GB. Of course, the second option is inconvenient, since the maximum number of massive applications with a cache will not exceed 5 pieces. And the 6 GB option will be the most comfortable.

Battery

Stands out among features. For example, cheap versions get the standard 4000 mAh, which is not enough for 12 hours of work with a large screen. However, we are talking about a $ 700 tablet, so the capacity was a record - 8600 mAh. One charge will last at least 2 days of active Internet use. Gameplay reduces this time to 16 hours. In standby mode, the tablet will stay for 5 days or ~ 120 hours.

Unfortunately, the model does not have the Fast Charging function, so it will take quite a long time to charge up to 100% (2 hours).

Camera

In this regard, Lenovo stuck on the word "duo", so both the main and front cameras have 2 sensors each. At the same time, tablets have never been distinguished by high-quality images.

Main camera:

  • 13 MP (wide);
  • 5 MP (ultrawide);
  • Shooting video in 1080p quality at 30fps.

The only thing that can save soapy and gray photos is Android 10. The system provides a whole photo enhancement package, as well as new features (boomerang, slow-mo, zoom). If desired, users can use the tips of the neural network for choosing the angle (HDR). Without this, the images will come out pixelated, when shooting in an open area, colors will disappear.

Front-camera:

  • 8 MP;
  • 8 MP;

In the case of the selfie camera, the value is more satisfactory, but you should not hope for a miracle with Lenovo.

Advantages and disadvantages

Advantages:
  • Elegant design;
  • Large battery capacity;
  • Convenient, simple interface;
  • Expensive, damage-resistant materials;
  • Bright display;
  • Support for wired headphones and SIM cards;
  • Latest version of Android OS 10;
  • Powerful processor;
  • Lots of features for work and study.
Flaws:
  • Few colors;
  • Weak camera;
  • Small amount of RAM;
  • High price.

Bottom line and price

As mentioned earlier, the preliminary price of the tablet is high - $ 700 or 50 thousand rubles. Is it a lot? For a tablet, yes, but since the Lenovo P11 Pro belongs to the premium segment and consists of expensive materials and powerful hardware, the price is quite justified.

Who will suit?

The model is universal and will adapt to any owner. Unpretentious children will like the speed of the system, pupils and students will appreciate the organization and the number of functions for studying, adults will like the mobility and compactness of the novelty. Thus, the investment will pay off in many years of faithful service!
